Disabled girl raped, suspect arrested

A disabled girl was raped in Sehwan by man who lived in the same neighbourhood. Police arrested the nominatyed suspect on Sunday.

Reportedly, 20-year-old Bakhtawar Lashari was raped on May 4 by the accused, Ali Raza Chanesar Makrani, at the house of Ahmed Ali Macchi. Then, on May 10, her uncle, Amjad Ali Lashari, filed a case at the Sehwan police station. He claimed that Bakhtawar was in a wheelchair at the door of the house when the accused put his hand on her face and dragged her to Macchi's house. The accused then raped Bakhtawar and fled. Macchi was also reportedly present at his house when the incident occurred.

The victim was sent to Abdullah Shah Hospital for medical treatment, and SHO Zulfiqar Odhano revealed that an accused was arrested in the case, with further action to be taken after the victims medical reports come.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old Salima Rind filed a petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Jamshoro, accusing her father-in-law, Noor Muhammad Rind, of rape. A case was filed against the accused at Thibaat police station, stating that the victim was alone at home when her father-in-law raped her.
