A rally was held in Peshawar by religious scholars to pay tribute to the Pakistan armed forces for their strong and timely response to India.
Organized by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa United Ulema Board, the grand 'Victory Day Rally' took place at the historic Bala Hisar Fort.
Prominent scholars from various schools of thought affiliated with the board participated in the event.
In their speeches, they lauded the bravery and professionalism of the armed forces, emphasizing that their sacrifices in defending the nation are a source of pride for the entire country.
The scholars highlighted that the army's resolve and courage have sent a message of unity and solidarity to the nation.
During the rally, religious leaders from all sects stressed the urgent need to promote national unity and interfaith harmony, stating these are essential ingredients for peace and stability.
Participants unanimously announced that the upcoming Friday will be observed as both 'Victory Day' and 'Thanksgiving Day' throughout the province, in appreciation of the nation's resilience and the military's service.
The rally concluded with a collective prayer for the security, unity, and prosperity of Pakistan. The scholars also prayed for the promotion of brotherhood, peace, and harmony, urging the public to remain vigilant against elements trying to sow discord.
They reaffirmed their commitment to using sermons, statements, and actions to foster tolerance, coexistence, and national solidarity.
On the other hand, to pay tribute to the Pakistan army, traders from Peshawar Cantonment and Nothia held a Pakistan Zindabad rally on Sunday.
The rally was led by President Ashfaq Khan Khalil. Participants of the rally distributed sweets on the occasion.
During the event, flower petals were showered on the Pakistan Army soldiers present in Peshawar Cantonment, and flower garlands were placed on them.
While addressing the gathering, he said, "Congratulations to the Pakistan army, the government, and the entire nation for this great victory. We have achieved a significant success. We desire peace, but we will never compromise on the dignity of the nation."
He congratulated the Corps Commander Peshawar, Army Chief, Air Force, Navy, and all national institutions. He added that the entire nation is united at this time.
Similarly, a rally was also organized by the Women's Wing of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), led by MPA Sobia Shahid.
The participants of this rally expressed their salute to the unparalleled sacrifices of the Pakistan army. They stated that the soldiers of Pakistan have given such a response to India that they will not even have the courage to look towards Pakistan now.
