Man held for breaking ATM

A case was registered on the complaint of the bank manager

The Pakistan Bazar police, with the help of CCTV footage, arrested an accused who broke the ATM and camera of a private bank, damaged the electric and other cables and stole money. The police also recovered weapon and other tools he used during the crime, as well as mobile phone and cash from the accused.

A case was registered on the complaint of the bank manager, Muhammad Zafar Aslam. He stated to the police that on May 4, 2025, at 6:30pm, a person was spotted in the CCTV footage entering the ATM booth and after damaging the camera and wiring, he broke the ATM and stole the money.

On the basis of the footage, the police launched a hunt for the accused and after six days arrested the suspect identified as Niaz.

Two officials facilitating water theft suspended

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation has suspended two officers allegedly involved in facilitating water theft.

The suspended officials include Executive Engineer FTMS M Ahsan and Executive Engineer CTM Ehsanullah Shaikh. Formal suspension orders were issued by the Human Resources Department of the KWSC.

Earlier, Mayor Murtaza Wahab conducted a city-wide inspection to assess ongoing efforts to curb water pilferage and ensure equitable distribution of water to residents.
