Ministry, KPT's X accounts hacked

Pakistan's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) confirmed on Friday that their official accounts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) were hacked overnight.

In a statement, the Ministry of Economic Affairs's spokesperson clarified that any posts made during the breach should be considered unauthorised and not representative of the ministry's views or policies.

The following tweet was made from the account after it was hacked. The incident comes two days after Pakistan's National Cyber Emergency Response Team issued a red alert in response to rising cyber threats.
