NBP thrashed Pakistan Police 6-1 while KESC defeated Afghan FC 3-2 in the Pakistan Premiere Football League (PPFL) yesterday.
NBP resumed its campaign after the Ramazan and Eid break in a convincing manner as Farooq Shah broke the deadlock in just the third minute of the match. The score remained 1-0 to NBP at the interval and Mohammad Asif added two more quick goals in the 46th and 53rd minute to put his team in the driving position.
Police did manage to pull a goal back through a penalty kick with Sher Hassan slotting the ball home in the 57th minute but Abdul Aziz’s 75th-minute strike and further goals by Abbas Ali and Jawed Hamza sealed the rout.
NBP sit third on the table with 18 points after nine matches while Police are placed ninth with 12 points. Meanwhile, KESC replaced Wapda at sixth with 15 points after nine matches while Afghan FC remain fifth in the league with 15 points after eight matches.
