DSP Special Branch commits suicide

DSP of the Special Branch Saifullah Korai reportedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with his personal pistol.

Upon receiving information, local police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and shifted it to Sheikh Zayed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The reason behind the tragic incident remains unknown. Police said the incident occurred when DSP Saifullah Korai fatally shot himself at close range using his own licenced weapon.

His personal gunman, Irfan Ali, informed police via the emergency helpline (15), prompting a heavy police presence at the scene.

The deceased officer's family confirmed that he took his own life using his personal firearm.

Upon learning of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Irfan Ali Samo also visited the location along with a police team.

Police have launched a formal investigation, although the motive behind the suicide has yet to be determined.
