“This was manifestly done to disrupt the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League X,” said Naqvi. “To ensure the safety of our domestic and international players, who are our precious guests, we have decided to move the remaining matches to the UAE.”
He added that the mental well-being of the players was a key consideration, and that the PCB remained committed to the continuity of the tournament.
“As a responsible organisation that has overcome adversities repeatedly, it was important for us to safeguard the interests of cricket and ensure that the league continues to thrive,” Naqvi said.
The matches now to be held in the UAE include:
- Karachi Kings v Peshawar Zalmi
- Peshawar Zalmi v Lahore Qalandars
- Islamabad United v Karachi Kings
- Multan Sultans v Quetta Gladiators
- Qualifier
- Eliminator 1
- Eliminator 2
- Final
The PCB concluded by urging all stakeholders to stand by the board as it works to complete the tournament successfully.
