12 booked for extortion

A case has been registered against 12 suspects for allegedly torturing a shopkeeper on his refusal to pay extortion money.

According to the FIR filed by Faqeer Hussain, a resident of Pansera, he owns an NADRA Sahulat internet cafe on Jhang Road, where citizens pay government fees online. The complainant stated that the suspects Faheem, Noumi, Hannan, Jameel, Farhan and others belong to a criminal gang and came to his shop demanding daily payment of Rs2,000. Upon his refusal, the suspects threatened him.

He claimed that after he again refused to pay, the suspects barged in, assaulted him and vandalised the shop.
