In response to escalating border tensions and a wave of Indian drone strikes across the country, the Islamabad district administration has announced the closure of all educational institutions for two days.
According to an official notification, all schools, colleges, universities, and training institutes in the capital will remain closed on May 9 and 10. However, the notification clarified that ongoing examinations will continue as scheduled, without disruption.
The move is part of precautionary measures aimed at safeguarding students and staff amid rising security concerns. The decision comes against the backdrop of intensifying hostilities between Pakistan and India, with both sides exchanging accusations.
Earlier, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations revealed that Pakistani forces had shot down 29 Indian drones since Wedneday, some of which were intercepted over major cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi.
