The PTA on Wednesday blocked 16 Indian YouTube news channels, 31 YouTube video links, and 32 websites for disseminating false information and anti-Pakistan propaganda.
The action was taken in light of the prevailing regional situation to safeguard national security and protect Pakistan's digital ecosystem.
According to the PTA, the blocked content was found to be spreading misleading and harmful narratives intended to manipulate public perception and undermine national unity.
The move is part of the authority's ongoing efforts to combat disinformation and promote the responsible use of digital platforms.
The PTA reiterated its commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and trustworthy internet environment for telecom users in Pakistan.
The authority stated that it will continue to actively monitor online content and take firm action against any material that poses a threat to the country's national interests.
It is pertinent to note that the PTA's action follows a recent move by India's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which exercised emergency powers under the Information Technology Act to instruct major social media platforms to geo-limit several Pakistani accounts.
