Dust off the spellbooks: Practical Magic 2 is officially conjuring its way to cinemas.
Warner Bros. has announced a theatrical release date of September 18, 2026 for the long-anticipated sequel to the 1998 cult classic, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprising their beloved roles as witchy sisters Sally and Gillian Owens.
The follow-up will draw from a later installment in Alice Hoffman’s “Practical Magic” book series, though plot details remain under wraps.
The original film, which saw the Owens sisters battling a centuries-old family curse, flopped at the box office but has since found new life as a fan favourite.
A short teaser released by Warner Bros. features a voiceover incantation from Bullock and Kidman.

The sequel will share its release weekend with Sony’s Resident Evil reboot directed by Zach Cregger, setting the stage for a magical box office faceoff.
Susanne Bier will direct the film from a script by Akiva Goldsman, who co-wrote the original. The sequel is being produced by Bullock and Kidman alongside original producer Denise Di Novi.
At a February event, Kidman revealed the project was “moving ahead rapidly,” confirming fans’ hopes after years of sequel rumours and a scrapped prequel series.
Bullock and Kidman—both Oscar winners since the first film’s release—will now bring their star power back to the spellbinding universe that blends sisterhood, heartbreak, and a dash of the supernatural.
As anticipation brews, Warner Bros. has encouraged fans to rewatch the original Practical Magic, now streaming on MAX.
