Rockstar Games has unveiled a second official trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI, offering the most detailed look yet at its long-awaited title, now set for release in May 2026.
The trailer focuses heavily on the game's protagonists and setting, providing a glimpse into the world of Leonida—a fictional state inspired by Florida.
The story follows Jason Duval, a former soldier turned criminal, and Lucia Caminos, newly released from prison. The duo's partnership evolves through a series of escalating heists gone wrong, hinting at a Bonnie and Clyde-inspired narrative. Rockstar describes the plot as involving “a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida.”
A variety of new characters are also introduced. Cal Hampton is a conspiracy theorist and ally to Jason. Boobie Ike is a former thug turned businessman with interests in real estate and music, partnered with Dre’Quan Priest, a street hustler trying to break into the industry.
The game also features Real Dimez, a duo seeking viral fame, and Raul Bautista, a veteran bank robber who may be responsible for uniting Jason and Lucia.
Confirmed locations include Vice City—a modern take on the franchise’s iconic Miami parody—alongside rural swamplands in Grassrivers, beachside chaos in Leonida Keys, and the mountainous wilderness of Mount Kalaga.
Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia add to the diversity of the setting, promising a dynamic and expansive map.
While Rockstar has yet to reveal full gameplay mechanics, the developer continues to label GTA 6 as the “biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet.”
Grand Theft Auto VI will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Pricing details are still pending.
