Pindi expands emergency response network
In response to escalating tensions between Pakistan and India, civil defence authorities have expanded the deployment of scouts and volunteer rescuers from the city level to tehsils across the Rawalpindi Division.
Following the completion of their training, these volunteers have begun conducting night patrols and maintaining vigils throughout the city.
A state of rescue emergency has been declared in all six districts of the division — Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Talagangas well as in all 27 tehsils. Control rooms have been set up in the civil defence departments of each district, and 7,500 volunteers have been placed on high alert.
These individuals are receiving ongoing training in emergency response and first aid.
