
With monsoon rains approaching, all relevant departments have been instructed to expedite the cleaning, repair and reconstruction of Nullah Shuwala, nearby seasonal drains and sewerage systems to avert any flood-like situation.
Stressing the urgency of the task, Deputy Commissioner Farvah Aamir said completing the Nullah Shuwala project before the rains is essential to protect urban infrastructure and prevent flooding.
The Khushab deputy commissioner has directed all concerned departments to accelerate cleaning, repair, and reconstruction work of Nullah Shuwala, adjoining seasonal drains, and sewerage lines ahead of the expected monsoon rains.
She emphasised that the timely completion of Nullah Shuwala's construction is critical for preventing urban flooding and safeguarding public property.
Presiding over a meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee at the DC Office Committee Room in Joharabad, the deputy commissioner highlighted the urgency of completing ongoing drainage and sewerage infrastructure projects to avert any repeat of previous flood-like situations. "The Nullah Shuwala cleaning scheme must be completed at the earliest in the interest of public safety," she stressed.
