Information Minister Attaullah Tarar told the National Assembly on Tuesday that Pakistan is confronting India’s information warfare head-on, exposing its falsehoods globally and defeating it on diplomatic and narrative fronts, during a debate on the regional situation after the recent Pahalgam incident, Radio Pakistan reported.

The National Assembly continued its discussion on the regional fallout from what lawmakers described as India’s “false flag operation” in Pahalgam and the series of provocative actions that followed. Members across party lines reiterated that the entire Pakistani nation is united and prepared to respond to any Indian misadventure.

Tensions between India and Pakistan intensified following a deadly attack on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which claimed the lives of 26 men as India promptly blamed Pakistani elements for the assault, despite presenting no evidence, a claim Pakistan strongly denied.

Addressing the House, Tarar said that India had attempted to block Pakistan’s online content, but in response, “Pakistan managed to have a song of its armed forces broadcast on Indian YouTube channels through geotagging and by purchasing advertisement airtime.”

He added that Pakistan’s diplomatic and public engagement efforts, including those led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, were highlighting Indian disinformation campaigns to the global community.

“The Pakistani nation has always delivered a crushing defeat to the enemy,” Tarar said. “We are not aggressors, but if the enemy resorts to misadventure, it will face such a response from our armed forces that its generations will remember it.”

Referring to ongoing Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people, calling Kashmir “the jugular vein of Pakistan.”

He also spoke of Pakistan’s frontline role in the war on terror and the significant sacrifices the country has made. “We have credible and irrefutable evidence against Indian state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan,” he said, further alleging India’s involvement in the assassination of Sikh leaders abroad.

Also addressing the House, Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said India’s baseless allegations against Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam attack were an attempt to distract from its actions regarding the Indus Waters Treaty. He echoed the sentiment that the nation stands united in the face of aggression.

Meanwhile, MQM-P's Dr Farooq Sattar said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “jingoistic mindset” is a threat to regional peace and has failed to garner international support. PTI's Barrister Gohar Ali Khan insisted that India “will never succeed in its nefarious designs,” particularly with regard to water rights.

The House was adjourned to meet again on Wednesday at 11 am.
