Three people, including a woman, were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle near Killi Hazar Khan on Teri Road in Balochistan’s Mastung district, Express News reported citing Levies officials.

The victims, identified as Muhammad Azam, Agha Muhammad, and Bibi Parveen, were residents of Kanak and were travelling to Mastung when the attack occurred. Authorities shifted the bodies to Mastung hospital.

The assailants fled the scene after the attack while police have launched a search operation.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The incident follows a similar attack two weeks ago, in which two security personnel guarding a polio vaccination team were killed in Balochistan’s Mastung district.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attack, labelling the perpetrators as enemies of humanity and vowing justice.

He reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicating polio, urging parents to vaccinate their children and promising the campaign would continue undeterred.

Attacks on polio teams are a recurring threat in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. At least 20 people were killed in similar incidents in 2024.
