A fiery opening partnership between Mohammad Naeem and Fakhar Zaman gave Lahore Qalandars a dominant start against Karachi Kings before rain interrupted play in the 24th match of HBL PSL X at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Opting to bowl first, Karachi Kings were left chasing shadows as Mohammad Naeem launched a blistering assault on their bowlers.
The right-hander smashed 65 off just 29 deliveries, hammering six boundaries and five sixes at a staggering strike rate of 224.13. His aggressive knock laid a solid platform for Lahore and thrilled the home crowd.
Fakhar Zaman provided steady support at the other end, remaining unbeaten on 21 off 18 balls, including two fours and a six.
Karachi's lone breakthrough came from Aamer Jamal, who dismissed Naeem, caught by Irfan Khan.
