The 44-year-old actress, who has spoken openly about her wellness journey, recently credited strength training as the foundation of her fitness routine. In a one-on-one interview with DailyMail.com, Metz said, “I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights,” adding that she prefers it over cardio. “I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased,” she joked.

Metz also highlighted her bond with her trainer, who has gone through his own weight loss transformation. “We have things in common. I don’t want to be yelled at—I want to be lovingly supported in whatever it is I’m doing,” she shared.

The Nashville-based star said she’s focused on healthy aging, with a particular awareness of risks like osteoporosis and arthritis. “I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong,” she said. “It’s really about being and staying strong and flexible.”

Her schedule varies, but she stays committed to whatever new interest she picks up—whether it’s strength training, gardening, or woodworking. “I love to go ham, all in,” she added.

When asked about the popular weight-loss drug Ozempic, Metz responded thoughtfully: “It’s something I feel is so personal. If you’re not hurting anybody or yourself, you should do what’s right for your body.”

Her appearance at the Power of Women event, hosted by Melissa Joan Hart, underscored Metz’s message: health and strength come from dedication, personal values, and sustainable lifestyle changes—reminding others that well-being is about progress, not perfection.
