'Robber' killed by firing of accomplices

Police seize stolen motorbike, pistol after encounter

DIJKOT:

A man with a criminal record of robbery and street crimes was killed allegedly by the firing of his accomplices on Unasi Road.

His accomplices managed to escape.

The police took the body into custody and shifted it to a hospital. A case has been registered under various legal provisions.

According to the police, the Thikriwala SHO was patrolling the area along with other personnel when they signaled two suspicious men on a motorcycle to stop at a checkpoint on Unasi Road. Instead, the suspects opened fire on the officials and fled.

During a chase, the suspects continued firing at the police. As the Elite Force and other police personnel surrounded the suspects, one of them identified as Muhammad Aamir, who was involved in serious crimes including robbery and street crimes, died on the spot because of the firing of his accomplices.

The police recovered a motorcycle and a pistol from the deceased. According to police, the motorcycle had been snatched a short while earlier from Thikriwala.
