Sindh taps industrialists to boost investment

CM's aide discusses Rs616b projects under public-private partnership

In a key development, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh on Investment and Public Private Partnership Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar met with prominent industrialists and business community personalities of the country in a meeting held at a local hotel in Karachi on Thursday.

Member of National Assembly Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, Zubair Motiwala, Arif Habib, Arif Elahi, Danish Khan, Junaid Naqi, Zahid Saeed, Sameer Chinoy, Danish Elahi and other industrialists and business community representatives participated in the meeting, according to a press release.

On the occasion, Naveed Qamar welcomed the distinguished guests and said that "today's meeting is in the light of the instructions of Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and is a continuation of the meeting held with Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah in the past few days.

He also briefed the participants of the meeting about the ongoing development projects in Sindh with the help of maps and charts and informed that the estimated portfolio of the Public Private Partnership projects currently running in Sindh is Rs616.3 billion.

In the meeting, Secretary Investment Sindh Raja Khurram Shahzad, Secretary Transport and Director General Public Private Partnership Unit Asad Zamin, Chief Executive Officer Sindh Economic Zone Management Company Abdul Azim Aqili, Chief Executive Officer Sindh Enterprise Development Fund Khizr Pervez and other officers of the Sindh Investment Department informed the participants about the projects and services of their respective institutions and answered the questions raised by them.
