Lahore Qalandars fast bowler Haris Rauf has expressed his admiration for Shaheen Afridi's leadership, as the two-time winners are bidding to lift the trophy once again.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Rauf reflected on Shaheen's impactful captaincy and how it has played a key role in the team's success.
"Shaheen Afridi's captaincy is excellent, and there is no doubt about it. Under his leadership, we have become champions twice," Rauf shared.
The fast bowler praised Shaheen's calm and supportive demeanor off the field, despite his aggressive appearance on it. Rauf emphasized that Shaheen creates a positive atmosphere for the players, always offering his support and guidance.
"On the field, he may appear aggressive, but in reality, he is very calm and supportive. He supports all the players, which is something that motivates us as a team," said Rauf.
Rauf also highlighted the importance of Shaheen's impartiality as a captain, noting that he does not let personal relationships affect his leadership. This quality, Rauf believes, makes Shaheen an ideal leader for the team.
"He doesn't differentiate between friendships on the field; he acts entirely as a captain. I also consider him as a leader," Rauf stated.
According to Haris, accepting a captain's leadership results in improved performance, as the players make a conscious effort to follow the captain's plans.
"When you accept someone as a captain, your performance improves because you want to follow their plans. I make every effort to follow his plans and contribute to the team's success," he concluded.
He also opened up about his performance in the ongoing HBL PSL10, expressing his dissatisfaction with his current form and his determination to improve.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Haris said, "To be honest, I am not yet satisfied with my performance in PSL, nor have I been able to meet the team's expectations or my personal goals. However, I am constantly trying to figure out how to improve and live up to the team's expectations."
The right-arm pacer, known for his pace and aggression, emphasized that he is focused on refining his skills ahead of the crucial matches in the tournament.
"I am working on improving my bowling speed because the upcoming matches are going to be very important," he explained.
Rauf also acknowledged his mistakes and expressed a commitment to learn from them.
"I am focusing on my mistakes and thinking about where the gaps are so I can improve myself," he concluded.
