Ellen Pompeo, renowned for her role in "Grey's Anatomy," was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 29, 2025.
The 55-year-old actress attended the ceremony with her husband, Chris Ivery, and two of their three children: 15-year-old daughter Stella and 8-year-old son Eli. Their 10-year-old daughter, Sienna, was not present, but Pompeo acknowledged her during the event, prompting attendees to "say Sienna because she's not here" as photographers captured the moment.

In her speech, Pompeo expressed gratitude to her family and colleagues, stating, "This doesn't happen overnight, and it doesn't happen easily. It takes a village. I love you Stella. I love you Eli." She also thanked Shonda Rhimes, creator of "Grey's Anatomy," for enabling her to balance a successful acting career with motherhood, noting, "Shonda allowed me to have a career, and get paid and be a mother".
Rhimes, who attended the ceremony alongside other colleagues, praised Pompeo's authenticity and impact on the series.
Pompeo's portrayal of Dr. Meredith Grey has been central to the success of "Grey's Anatomy," now in its 21st season. While she has reduced her on-screen presence in recent seasons, she remains involved with the show narratively. Her recent work includes starring in the Hulu limited series "Good American Family".
