The first trailer for Now You See Me: Now You Don’t — the third entry in the hit magician-heist series — has stirred curiosity among fans due to the absence of Mark Ruffalo. Despite being a key figure in the franchise as FBI agent-turned-magician Dylan Rhodes, Ruffalo is nowhere to be seen in the newly released footage.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the upcoming film reunites audiences with the Four Horsemen — Jesse Eisenberg (Danny Atlas), Dave Franco (Jack Wilder), Isla Fisher (Henley Reeves), and Woody Harrelson (Merritt McKinney) — as they prepare for their most daring heist yet. The trailer also introduces new cast members, but noticeably omits Ruffalo’s character, prompting speculation about his role.
While Ruffalo does not appear in the trailer, his return has already been confirmed according to Variety. At the end of Now You See Me 2, Dylan and the Horsemen manage to escape the authorities. Dylan then visits the Greenwich Observatory, where he discovers the deeper roots of the Eye organization and accepts a new leadership role passed on by Thaddeus Bradley.
Earlier this month at CinemaCon, Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson previewed the film, saying, “We can’t wait for audiences to discover what [Fleischer’s] done with the third film, and [we're] thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us”
