Islamabad United maintained their perfect record in the 2025 HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) following a commanding run through the first half of the tournament, while the race for the playoff spots remains wide open.

Islamabad, who have won all five of their matches so far, sit comfortably at the top of the points table with 10 points and a healthy net run rate of 2.342.

Their latest victory came against Multan Sultans, where they chased down a modest target with ease, further cementing their status as the team to beat this season.

Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators are locked in a tight mid-table battle, each sitting on six points.

Lahore boast a slight advantage in net run rate following a thrilling five-wicket win over Multan Sultans, bouncing back after a slow start to their campaign.

Karachi, due to their inconsistencies, lost out to Quetta Gladiators by five-runs in their latest fixture, while Quetta also beat Peshawar Zalmi in a high-scoring thriller.

At the lower end of the standings, Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans are under pressure to save their seasons.

Zalmi have managed only two wins from six matches, and Multan, despite their strong line-up, have struggled, registering just a single victory.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate a crucial clash between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans later this week — a match that could make or break each team's HBL PSL campaign.

Islamabad United are scheduled to face Lahore Qalandars next in a much-anticipated showdown between two of the tournament's biggest sides.

Under the double round-robin format, each team plays every other team twice, with the top four progressing to the playoffs.
