Pak HC honours runners at London Marathon
At a time when tensions between India and Pakistan were at a peak - especially following an incident where an Indian priest was arrested during a protest outside the London High Commission - two International marathon runners, Mona Khan Anchor and Muhammad Yousuf Khan, chose a powerful, peaceful way to respond.
Running shoulder-to-shoulder in London Marathon, carrying the flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, they sent a strong message of unity, peace, and resilience to the world.
Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Dr Faisal personally invited and honored the runners at the High Commission in London, appreciating their efforts and calling their run "the best and most dignified protest."
He stated, "While others resort to disruption and negativity, you showed the world that Pakistan and Kashmir stand together with dignity, peace, and pride."
By joining the two flags at the finish line, Mona and Yousuf proved that real strength lies in unity and positive action - not in chaos.
