Princess Lilibet’s American accent has been heard publicly for the first time in a new video shared by Meghan Markle on Instagram.
The Duchess of Sussex posted a clip on Saturday where she asks her three-year-old daughter for her opinion on a batch of homemade strawberry jam. Lilibet’s verdict, delivered with a distinct Californian twang, was simply: "It's beautiful."
Since relaunching her Instagram account earlier this year, Meghan has offered more glimpses into her life in Montecito, California, with Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Royal watchers first heard Lilibet’s voice in January 2025, in an emotional tribute video to the family’s late dog, Guy.
Both Archie, now five, and Lilibet appear to have developed strong American accents, reflecting their upbringing in the United States. In a previous clip, Archie could be heard remarking about Guy, saying, "he might fall," with a pronounced American tone.
Meghan’s latest video coincides with her growing promotional efforts around her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Speaking recently at the Time100 Summit, she shared her passion for kitchen crafts, floral arrangements, and jam-making. She revealed the idea for her lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, came after Netflix executive Bela Bajaria suggested that her home creations could inspire a show.
Despite significant anticipation, the series received mixed to negative reviews, with some critics describing it as overly polished and lacking authenticity.
Princess Lilibet’s charming appearance in her mother’s recent video has provided a lighter moment amidst the ongoing scrutiny of the Sussexes' media ventures.
