Kanye West’s first-ever Twitch livestream ended in swift suspension—just seven minutes after it began.
On Friday, 25 April, the rapper shared a link on X (formerly Twitter) directing fans to his newly created Twitch account under the name Yeezy_Streams.
The channel had not even reached 220 followers before the 47-year-old was blacklisted by the platform.
Given West’s recent behaviour, the abrupt ban shocked few.
In recent weeks alone, he has shown up to an interview wearing a KKK hood, promoted antisemitic views, and publicly mocked the children of fellow music icons Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
This isn’t West’s first brush with Twitch-related controversy either.
Earlier this month, on 6 April 2025, rapper Digital Nas had his Twitch account temporarily banned after featuring West on a livestream where they previewed a controversial track from West’s upcoming WW3 album.
Following that incident, West announced intentions to create his own platform, dubbed ‘Yeezy Streaming’. However, it remains unclear whether this would be used primarily for music releases or as a general livestreaming hub.
In the case of Friday’s stream, it was once again West’s on-air behaviour that prompted immediate consequences.
While Twitch has not yet released a formal statement on the exact reason for the ban, clips from the livestream began circulating online, painting a grim picture.
During his brief time on air, West used multiple slurs, delivered a series of antisemitic remarks, and even performed a Nazi salute while shouting, “Heil Hitler.”
The offensive display left little ambiguity surrounding Twitch’s decision to take action and remove his channel.
Now, visiting West’s yeezy_stream account brings up a standard message from Twitch stating, “This channel is temporarily unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”
Whether the suspension will be made permanent remains uncertain, though given the severity of the stream’s content, a permanent ban seems likely.
West also used the short broadcast to aim a few disparaging remarks at his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, further adding to the offensive nature of the stream.
His actions continue a long pattern of inflammatory behaviour dating back to 2022, including multiple pro-Hitler statements and ongoing antisemitic rhetoric.
These behaviours have not only tarnished West’s public image but also led to the collapse of several brand partnerships and sponsorships.
High-profile companies have steadily distanced themselves from the rapper as his conduct continues to escalate.
Screenshots and heavily censored clips from the Twitch stream are still circulating online, showing snippets of the disturbing content without reproducing the most explicit moments.
As fallout continues from the incident, questions remain about whether other platforms will follow Twitch’s lead in removing West’s digital presence.
