At least six terrorists were killed and four others injured during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district, the military's media wing reported on Friday.

The operation took place during the night of April 23–24, following reports of militant presence in the area. “Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district on the reported presence of Khwarij,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

According to the ISPR, an intense exchange of fire ensued during which six militants were killed and four others sustained injuries.

Following the operation, a sanitisation effort was launched to ensure the area was fully cleared of any remaining threats. “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the statement added.

The operation is part of ongoing nationwide efforts to counter militant activity and maintain stability in restive regions.
