Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn will finally settle their bitter rivalry in a middleweight showdown at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 26 April. The long-anticipated bout, years in the making, echoes a legendary family feud that began with their fathers in the 1990s.
The fight marks the third major boxing event at Tottenham’s ground, following Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora.
Eubank Jr and Benn are expected to make their ring walks around 9.45 p.m. BST, with undercard coverage beginning at 5 p.m. BST.
Eubank Jr, 35, enters with a record of 34 wins, 3 losses, and 25 knockouts. Benn, 28, is unbeaten in 23 fights with 14 knockouts. The bout will be contested at a 11st 6lbs middleweight limit, and a hydration clause limits weight gain post-weigh-in.
While no official title is at stake, Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, stated that a win could earn the victor a shot at Canelo Alvarez. The WBC has backed this possibility.
“This rivalry has history, drama, and the potential for a career-defining outcome,” said WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.
The Eubank-Benn feud began with Chris Eubank Sr’s ninth-round TKO over Nigel Benn in 1990 and a draw in their 1993 rematch.
The sons were first set to fight in 2022, but that bout was cancelled after Benn tested positive for clomifene. A series of appeals followed, and Benn was eventually cleared to fight in late 2024.
Their rivalry reignited in February 2025 when Eubank Jr slapped Benn with an egg during a press event, mocking the WBC's earlier claim that egg contamination might have caused Benn's positive tests.
On the undercard, Anthony Yarde faces Lyndon Arthur in their trilogy bout, while Chris Billam-Smith meets Brandon Glanton in a cruiserweight contest. Liam Smith takes on Aaron McKenna, and Viddal Riley faces Cheavon Clarke.
Tensions remain high ahead of Saturday. Benn has vowed to retire Eubank Jr, citing personal animosity: “There are reasons I can’t speak about. I don’t like him.”
Eubank Jr responded with confidence: “This isn’t about size or weight. It’s about skill and experience. I will dominate.”
