Benny Blanco recently recreated a prom night experience for his fiancée Selena Gomez after learning she never attended her own high school dance.
The couple shared the moment on Instagram with a short video highlighting their themed night, which included a mall glamour photoshoot and a limousine ride.
Blanco posted the clip on 24 April, soundtracked by “Just the Two of Us,” and captioned it “wow.” In the video, Blanco wrote, “My fiancée has never been to prom before...so I asked her if we should take prom photos together at a mall...she said yes!” He added that he rented a limousine for the occasion to complete the experience.
The pair arrived at the mall dressed in sweats to keep their formalwear hidden. Gomez later revealed a purple high-low dress, paired with black tights, booties, and a dramatic faux-fur coat. Blanco wore a traditional black tuxedo with a bowtie. Inside the photo studio, they posed for classic prom-style portraits in front of a lavender backdrop, complete with a pedestal.
“It was more fun than either of us expected it to be,” Blanco shared. Behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot were included in the video, along with a reveal of their finished glamour shots at the end. Fans flooded the comments praising Blanco’s thoughtfulness, calling the gesture romantic and heartfelt.
Blanco previously spoke about the surprise during an interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where he revealed he threw the prom-themed party for his birthday to give Gomez the chance to experience it. “Honestly, my favourite prom was with my partner,” he said.
