Virat Kohli reached a rare milestone on Thursday with a 70-run innings off 42 balls, featuring eight fours and two sixes.

The India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru great became the first player to score 3,500 T20 runs at a single venue, achieving the feat during the Indian Premier League 2025 match against Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

It was Kohli's fifth half-century of the current IPL season and extended his dominance at the Bengaluru ground, where he already held the record for most T20 runs at a single venue.

The latest knock took his total to 3,556 runs at Chinnaswamy, placing him at the top of a list that includes some of the game’s most consistent performers in home conditions.

Bangladesh’s Mushfiqur Rahim follows Kohli with 3,373 runs at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, while England’s James Vince and Alex Hales have amassed 3,253 and 3,241 runs at the Rose Bowl and Trent Bridge respectively.

Tamim Iqbal, also of Bangladesh, rounds out the top five with 3,238 runs at Mirpur.

Kohli’s form has been a key factor for RCB in the ongoing season. He has scored 392 runs so far, making him the franchise’s leading run-scorer and placing him second in the Orange Cap race.

He also moved level with Gujarat Titans' Sai Sudharsan for the most half-centuries in the current edition, with both having five fifty-plus scores.
