'Save Indus River Movement' stays put on canals issue

The meeting's participants stated that now the movement has turned into a movement of settlers

KARACHI:

An emergency meeting of the Save Indus River Movement was held on Thursday with Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashidi in the chair at the Functional House, Clifton.

The meeting decided that their movement will continue until the notification for the cancellation of building six canals on the Indus River is issued.

It was also decided that the movement will persist until the notification for the cancellation and return of land allotted in Sindh under the Green Pakistan Initiative for corporate farming is issued.

The meeting's participants stated that now the movement has turned into a movement of settlers, students, lawyers, women, youth and farmers and it will continue at all costs until it's objectives are achieved.

They emphasised that the aware and conscious people of Sindh will no longer accept any kind of false propaganda or deceptive tactics.
