Heatwave to persist in Sindh until April 30

Weather in the city is expected to remain hot and humid over the next three days

Though sea breezes remained active, the city recorded hot and humid weather on Thursday. According to the PMD, the maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 37.5 degrees Celsius, while the humidity ratio in the air was recorded at 58%, due to which the intensity of the heat felt higher than the actual temperature.

According to the Early Warning Center's forecast, weather in the city is expected to remain hot and humid over the next three days, with mercury potentially reaching 38 degrees Celsius today and 39 degrees Celsius on Saturday.

Most areas of the province are likely to remain under the grip of a heatwave until April 30, during which temperatures may be recorded 6 to 8 degrees higher than normal. In interior Sindh districts of Tharparkar, Umarkot and Mirpurkhas, mercury may be recorded 4 to 6 degrees higher than normal.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the temperature was recorded at 45.5 degrees Celsius in Shaheed Benazirabad and Dadu.
