ISLAMABAD:

Senator Sherry Rehman inaugurated an art exhibition on the culture and identity of the Kalash community at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

The exhibition titled "Rekingdingling: The Kalash Narrative", underscored the importance of preserving and celebrating Pakistan's diverse cultural heritage. It showcased the work of six art accomplished artists: Ahmed Habib, Akram Dost Baloch, Ejaz Khan, M. A. Bhatti, Riffat Khatak and Samreen Asif.

"This exhibition is a beautiful celebration of the unique and vibrant culture of the Kalash community," said Rehman. "Their traditions and heritage are not only distinct but also deeply inspiring."

"It's essential that we continue to promote and cherish the diverse cultural identities that make up the fabric of our nation," she added. "The artists have skilfully highlighted meaningful themes through modern expression, and the entire team deserves a heartfelt congratulations for this commendable effort."

She went onto congratulate the organisers and participants for curating a powerful and visually compelling showcase, adding that such initiatives play a vital role in fostering cultural understanding and unity.
