Kendrick Lamar is leading American Music Awards 2025 with the most nominations

Kendrick Lamar has earned the most nominations for the 2025 American Music Awards, with a total of 10 nods.

The Grammy-winning rapper is recognized in multiple categories, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for GNX. Lamar also secured nominations in the Collaboration of the Year category for his work with SZA on “Luther,” as well as in Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album. If he were to win in all eight categories he’s nominated in, he could tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year.

Following Lamar’s dominance, Post Malone also garnered significant attention with eight nominations. Other notable artists such as Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey earned seven nominations each. The fan-voted awards show, which first began in 1974, will be returning this year after a two-year hiatus, marking its comeback with a star-studded event.

Fan voting for the 2025 AMAs is currently open through VoteAMAs.com and the official Instagram page, with voting set to close on May 15, 2025. The awards will be broadcast live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+ in the U.S.

The American Music Awards remain one of the largest fan-voted events in music, and the 2025 edition is expected to showcase some of the year’s most popular and influential artists. The nominations, based on streaming data, album sales, radio play, and tour grosses, were tracked by Billboard and Luminate.
