Carlos Santana was hospitalised following a medical emergency just hours before a scheduled performance in San Antonio, Texas.

According to his representative, the guitarist was taken to a local hospital after experiencing symptoms associated with dehydration during soundcheck preparations on Tuesday. Witnesses reported that Santana had to be taken out on a stretcher and placed into an ambulance.

The planned concert at the Majestic Theater that evening was subsequently postponed. In a statement shared via the venue's social media, Michael Vrionis, Santana’s manager, confirmed the incident and described the decision to delay the show as precautionary.

"Mr. Santana was on-site preparing for tonight's show when he experienced what was determined to be dehydration. Out of an abundance of caution and for Mr. Santana's health, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action," Vrionis stated.

He added that Santana is "doing well" and remains under medical observation. Fans were assured that the concert will be rescheduled, with details to be announced soon. Ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets for the future date.

This incident follows a similar health scare in 2022 when Santana collapsed on stage due to heat exhaustion and dehydration, highlighting the physical toll of continuous touring.

Carlos Santana, known for his blend of rock and Latin American music, has remained a dominant figure in the music industry for decades. His ongoing US tour is expected to continue following medical clearance.
