SHC summons mayor in ground rent case

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has summoned the city mayor in connection with 14-year-old petitions challenging ground rent notices issued to industries and factories by the former City District Government of Karachi.

While hearing the petitions on Tuesday, the court expressed concern over the prolonged delay in resolving the matter, attributing it to the lack of interest shown by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
