Iffat Omar appointed Punjab's cultural adviser

Her appointment is part of plan to revitalize cultural institutions, increase public engagement with local heritage

The Punjab government has appointed actress and television host Iffat Omar as the cultural adviser to the Minister for Information and Culture, Azma Bokhari.

According to an official notification, Omar will work with the ministry to design and implement programs aimed at promoting and preserving the province’s cultural heritage.

She has been provided an office at the Alhamra Cultural Complex in Lahore to facilitate her duties.

Iffat Omar has worked extensively in Pakistan’s media and entertainment sector.

In her new role, she will support initiatives across performing arts, literature, and traditional crafts, as well as help coordinate events and cultural activities throughout Punjab.

The government stated that the appointment is part of its broader plan to revitalize cultural institutions and increase public engagement with local heritage.
