
Cases have been registered against eight men for blackmailing two citizens, including a leader of traders, and making indecent videos of a youth while demanding extortion.
According to the complaint filed with the police by Shahid Iqbal, a resident of Malikpur, he was sleeping in his quarters on April 20 when the accused Zubair Atif, resident of Malikpur, Nabeel, resident of Manzoor Park, and Mohsin, resident of Shamsabad, brought him out of the quarters and kept making his indecent pictures besides blackmailing him.
The accused demanded Rs100,000 in extortion, threatening to release the pictures on social media if he did not get the money from his relatives.
Meanwhile, in another case reported at Thikriwala Police Station in 275-JB Pansira, the President of the Pansira Traders Association, Abdul Fareed, filed a complaint stating that during Ramazan, accused Saqib, Munawwar alias Moocha, resident of 275-GB Pansira and three others came to his shop in Anarkali Bazaar and demanded that he collect Rs5,000 from each shopkeeper to send to officials. Upon his refusal, the accused threatened him and did not allow the shops to open.
