The education boards have announced a hike in the registration fees for ninth and tenth-grade students for the upcoming academic sessions of 2025 to 2027.
According to the new fee structure, the total registration cost has been increased to Rs2,910, which includes the actual registration fee of Rs1,100. Additionally, the fee breakdown consists of Rs630 for processing, Rs300 for the Board Development Fund, Rs180 for a scholarship fee, and Rs200 for sports activities.
In a separate charge, schools will collect Rs500 as the respective school fee. The new fee applies to both government and private schools, with institutions collecting an additional Rs300 to Rs500 for other services.
The registration process is scheduled to begin without a late fee on May 29, 2025. A late fee of Rs600 will apply for registrations between May 30 and June 13.
Students who are 11 years and 2 months old by August 1, 2025, are eligible for registration. The process will be conducted online, but schools will be required to submit a hard copy of the registration along with the online submission. Furthermore, students must present their B Forms as part of the registration process.
Educational authorities have emphasised that these changes are aimed at enhancing the development and improvement of the education system.
