New release date for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par announced: reports
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is set to return to the big screen with his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, which is now officially scheduled for release on June 20 2025, according to Indian media reports.
Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film is said to be a remake of the Spanish film Campeones. It also draws a thematic connection to Aamir Khan’s 2007 hit Taare Zameen Par, although it is not a direct sequel.
In Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach who mentors a team of intellectually disabled players.
The story also features a group of children facing various personal challenges, offering an emotional and inspirational narrative. Actress Genelia D'Souza will also be seen in a significant role.
The film was earlier expected to release on 30 May 2025, but the latest reports suggest the new confirmed release date is 20 June 2025. An official announcement from the filmmakers is still awaited.
