A local court has directed the police to submit the final challan in the drug possession case against Sahir Hassan, the son of veteran actor Sajid Hassan. The order was issued by Judicial Magistrate (South) Shahzad Khawaja during a hearing held at the Judicial Complex inside Karachi Central Jail.
During the proceedings, jail authorities produced the accused, Sahir Hassan, before the court. Police officials submitted a corrected interim challan in the case and requested time to file the final one. The court accepted the request and granted a deadline of six days, directing the investigating officer to file the final challan by April 22. The accused has also been ordered to be produced in court on the same date.
According to police, Sahir Hassan is currently in judicial custody and remains incarcerated at Karachi Central Jail. He was arrested on February 22 from DHA Phase 6, where law enforcement officers allegedly recovered five packets of marijuana from his possession.
Police sources claim that Sahir was involved in supplying drugs to two individuals - Mustafa Amir and Armughan Qureshi. His name reportedly surfaced during investigations into the brutal murder of Mustafa Amir, who was allegedly killed by Armughan Qureshi. Investigators say the drug angle was a key link that brought Sahir under the police radar.
Further developments in the case are expected following the submission of the final challan next week.
