In a series of Instagram Stories shared on Monday, film-and-TV star Mahira Khan wished makeup artist Adnan Ansari a very happy birthday. Her wish consisted of photos and video clips of the two on duty or making fun content during breaks. In one of the posts, Mahira envisioned working with Adnan even when they are "old and wrinkly". In a different post, she promised that "we will always have this".
Her spam ended with a set photo of the two at a train station, over which Mahira penned a heartfelt note. "My one and only. You will always be my first and my last. Thank you for being you, for being one of the most special people in my life. My first makeup artist and always the one who has been there. May Allah bless you with infinite happiness and good health. You know I love you. Always and forever. Happy belated birthday, my Adnan!" she wrote.
In 2021, too, Mahira dedicated an Instagram post to Adnan on his birthday, also addressing why she has so much love for her team, especially the makeup artist who has been with her through her VJ years.
"People always ask me why I post so many photos of my team, particularly my makeup artists. Most of the time I don't know how to answer that," the Verna star wrote. "Today, as I write a post for Adnan, I thought I'd share this with all of you."
She then recalled her first meeting with Adnan, back when he was an assistant makeup artist at the beauty salon she visited for a makeover. "We sat there literally twiddling our thumbs. I remember laughing at everything he said. This was 2006/2007. Fifteen years later, he is still my makeup artist - well to the world at least. For me, he is so much more than that."
The Raees star continued, "He's my friend, my brother, my keeper of secrets. He knows when I'm upset and knows how to make me smile. He has seen me cry sneakily on set and held my hand through it. I have held him in my arms when he has broken down. We have laughed, cried, danced all night, eaten like crazy and travelled the world - all of it - together. He is my family."
Mahira shared she is extremely grateful to her job and the universe for surrounding her with people she loves so much. "Alhumdulillah," she said. "So to answer the question is quite simple - I am, because of them."
