
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government has launched its flagship housing initiative, Ehsaas Apna Ghar.
Special Assistant for Housing, Dr Amjad Ali, announced that interest-free loans of up to Rs 1.5 million per person will be provided.
He stated the loan is aimed at individuals with a monthly income of less than Rs 100,000, and the repayment period is 7 years, with monthly instalments of Rs 18,000.
According to Dr Amjad Ali, the loan is available to those who own a plot or house of 5 marla or less. Applicants must be between 18 and 55 years of age.
Previously, a record has been set with the construction of 1,806 houses under the Punjab chef minister's Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar Programme along with the recovery of loans worth Rs92.4 million.
According to an official statement, more than 22,600 houses are in their final stages of completion under the scheme.
Over 25,500 families have been granted loans worth more than Rs27.43 billion for building their homes.
The second installment of the loans has been granted to more than 12,000 families and approval has been given for issuing 2000 additional loans.
The loans are being provided for the construction of houses covering one to five marla in the urban areas.
