VEHARI:

A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) training aircraft crashed near Mouza Faiz Wah, Basti Dakhli, a suburb of Vehari, on Wednesday after developing a technical fault during flight. Both pilots onboard ejected safely using the aircraft's emergency system and sustained only minor injuries.

The incident occurred in agricultural fields near a private oil depot, narrowly avoiding a potential catastrophe. Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft caught fire mid-air before crashing to the ground with a loud explosion. The flames intensified upon impact, completely engulfing and destroying the aircraft.

Local residents, alarmed by the explosion and rising flames, rushed to the crash site. According to witnesses, the aircraft narrowly missed colliding with the outer wall of the oil depot - a development that could have resulted in a far greater disaster. Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade, Rescue 1122, police, and personnel from security agencies, swiftly reached the scene.
