Cuban-American actor William Levy, widely recognized for his roles in popular telenovelas and Hollywood films, was arrested on Monday in Broward County, Florida.

According to jail records, Levy, whose full name is William Gutiérrez-Levy, was taken into custody by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in Weston.

The 44-year-old actor is facing charges of disorderly intoxication in a public place, causing a disturbance, and trespassing. Levy was booked into the Broward County Main Jail following his arrest. During a bond court appearance on Tuesday afternoon, a judge granted him a $500 bond and issued an order for him to stay away from the property where the alleged incident occurred.

As of early Tuesday, Levy remained in custody.

Known for his work in Spanish-language television, Levy rose to fame in the U.S. through appearances in films like “Addicted” and “Girls Trip,” and as a fan favorite on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” in 2012. His arrest has drawn significant public attention due to his high-profile career and strong fanbase across Latin America and the U.S.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office has not yet released full details of the incident, but Local 10 News has confirmed that a request has been made for the official arrest report.

This is not the first time the Levy family has made headlines in South Florida. In 2020, Christopher Levy, the son of William Levy, was seriously injured in a golf cart accident that required emergency medical attention.
