Global citizenship to be included in curriculum
International experts conducted training sessions during a workshop on the integration of global citizenship education into the national curriculum.
The international workshop on 'Global citizenship in education and curriculum development and integration' commenced under the auspices of the school education department Punjab Education, Curriculum, Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA). PECTAA Chief Executive Officer Dr Shehanshah Faisal Azeem stated while welcoming the participants Azeem stated that the education department is committed to bringing curriculum development, professional teacher training and educational assessments onto a unified platform based on 21st-century skills and research-driven pedagogical practices.
Parliamentary Secretary for Education Nosheen Adnan said necessary capacities are being built among teachers and institutions to promote peace, sustainability and shared global responsibility.
Institute for Global Citizenship Education Deputy Head Jiyoung Min Om appreciated Punjab's dedication to advancing the subject.
On the first day, the focus was the strategic integration of global citizenship education into the national curriculum.
