Government increases vehicle transfer fees, including for EVs

The federal government has increased vehicle transfer fees across Pakistan, including for electric vehicles (EVs), with immediate effect.

The new fees, announced by the Ministry of Finance, apply to both traditional and electric vehicles and are to be deposited into the designated government account.​

Traditional Vehicle Transfer Fees:

  • Up to 1000cc: Increased from Rs1,200 to Rs2,750.

  • 1001cc to 1800cc: Increased from Rs2,000 to Rs5,500.

  • Above 1800cc: Increased from Rs3,000 to Rs11,000.​

Electric Vehicle Transfer Fees:

  • Up to 50 kWh: Rs2,500.

  • 51 to 100 kWh: Rs 5,500.

  • Above 100 kWh: Rs10,000

Motorcycle Transfer Fees:

  • Up to 200cc: Increased from Rs150 to Rs550.

  • 201cc to 400cc: Rs1,000.

  • Above 400cc: Rs1,500.​

These changes aim to streamline the vehicle transfer process and bring consistency to the fee structure across the country.

The government has urged vehicle owners to comply with the new fee schedule to ensure smooth processing of transfer applications.
