In anticipation of Eidul Azha, the first truck carrying sacrificial animals arrived at the cattle market at Northern Bypass, marking the early start of one of the metropolis' largest seasonal livestock markets. A crowd of onlookers, particularly youth, celebrated the truck's arrival with traditional drum beats and dancing.
According to Shahab Ali, Administrator of this year's cattle market at Northern Bypass, preparations began shortly after Eidul Fitr - much earlier than previous years. The first truck, brought in by livestock trader Javed Bhatti from Ahmedpur Sharqia, carried 27 bulls and cows.
Ali stressed that this year's seasonal market aims to provide improved facilities for both traders and buyers. Parking fees for visitors have been reduced by 50% compared to last year, and traders are allowed to bring their own fodder for their animals. Moreover, all sacrificial animals will undergo complimentary veterinary check-ups.
To ensure proper animal care, the market administration has announced that each large animal will receive 30 litres of water per day, while small animals will be provided with 8 litres daily, free of charge.
