Three suspects from the 'Coma Gang' were arrested following an alleged shootout with police in the Ratta Amral area of Rawalpindi.
According to the police, one suspect was injured during the exchange of fire.
They said the incident occurred when a patrol team signalled a motorcycle carrying three men to stop. The suspects allegedly responded by opening fire on the officers.
"Police returned fire and managed to subdue the suspects, injuring one of them."
The arrested individuals were identified as Waqas alias Coma (the gang leader), Imran alias Maro, and the injured suspect Sohail. Authorities recovered weapons, cash, and a motorcycle from their possession.
Police said the suspects were wanted in numerous street crime cases in areas including Ratta Amral, Banni, New Town, and Pirwadhai.
A police spokesperson confirmed their long-standing criminal records.
City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani praised the police team for their bravery and vowed that individuals attacking citizens and law enforcement would be brought to justice.
He assured that the arrested suspects would face strict legal consequences.
Two killed in separate shootings
Two people were gunned down in separate incidents involving a dispute over property and a longstanding grudge in the city on Sunday, police said.
Shafaat Hussain reported to the Gujar Khan Police that he resides in Dhok Hashu and that they are five brothers. He along with his brothers Sajjad Hussain and Rafiqat Hussain, lives in the same house, while their elder brothers, Vilayat Hussain and Nazaakat Hussain, live in separate nearby homes.
There is ancestral land adjacent to the house that has been divided among the brothers. Sajjad Hussain owns about 13 to 14 marlas of land. However, Vilayat and his son also claim a share in that portion.
